The Joint Committee on European Union Affairs will discuss the European Court of Auditors Annual Report at a meeting in Leinster House, Committee Room 4, Wednesday 30 June, tomorrow at 9.30am.
Tony Murphy, Irish member of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) will appear before the Committee virtually for the discussion.
Speaking before the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Joe McHugh TD said: “It is imperative that EU citizens know how their money is being spent. The European Court of Auditors, as the independent external auditor of the EU, helps to ensure that this happens. The Committee welcomes this opportunity to meet with Tony Murphy to discuss the findings of the ECA’s most recent annual report on how money is being spent and recommendations on future spending; particularly in light of the level of spending required for the Covid-19 pandemic response.”
