Education Committee continues Pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill, 2021

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science will continue Pre-legislative scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill, 2021 today, Tuesday 13 July, with representatives from the Union of Students in Ireland,  the Teachers Union of Ireland, and the Irish Federation of University Teachers.

The meeting at 3:30 pm will be broadcast from Committee Room 4 of Leinster House.

Speaking in advance of the meeting, Cathaoirleach, Paul Kehoe TD, said: “The Committee will continue the important work of scrutinising the General Scheme of the Higher Education Authority Bill, 2021 through the pre-legislative scrutiny process. The Committee looks forward to having an informed discussion with the key stakeholders, again getting their input and feedback which will help the Committee in its examination of this very important proposed piece of legislation.”

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
