Three Ireland South MEPs to address Seanad Éireann

Three members of the European Parliament representing the Ireland South constituency will address Seanad Éireann and participate in a discussion with Senators tomorrow, Wednesday, 23 February.

This is the first time the MEPs will be present the Seanad chamber in Leinster House since they were elected in May 2019.  

MEPs representing Midlands North West constituency addressed the Seanad in September 2021, followed by their counterparts from the Dublin constituency in November.

The Seanad will be addressed by three of the five MEPs representing Ireland South, Billy Kelleher MEP, Sean Kelly MEP and Grace O’Sullivan MEP.

During the session from 2pm to 4pm, the MEPs will outline their work in Europe on behalf of their constituencies and constituents. There will also be opening statements from the spokespersons of the Seanad groups, followed by a question and answer session with the MEPs.

Billy Kelleher is a Fianna Fáil/Renew Europe Group MEP. He is a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Subcommittee on Tax Matters and the Delegation for relations with the United States.

Séan Kelly is a Fine Gael/European Peoples Party MEP. He is Vice-Chair of the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly, and a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, and the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Grace O’Sullivan is a Green Party/European Free Alliance MEP. She is a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, the Committee on Fisheries and the Delegation for relations with Palestine.
