Joint Committee on International Surrogacy to examine surrogacy regulations in other jurisdictions and separately how best to prevent the exploitation or coercion of surrogate mothers

The Joint Committee on International Surrogacy chaired by Deputy Jennifer Whitmore will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 9 June, in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House at 1:30pm

The meeting in 2 sessions will comparatively examine surrogacy regulations in other jurisdictions and then separately will look at how best to prevent the exploitation or coercion of surrogate mothers. The Committee will hear submissions from:

 

Session 1

·       Ms Annette Hickey, Head of Surrogacy and Fertility Law at Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan

·       Ms Bronagh O’Hanlon, Retired Judge of the High Court

·       Mr Richard Vaughn, Founder of the International Fertility Law Group

·       Ms Cindy Wasser, Hope Springs Fertility Law, Canada

 

Session 2

·       Ms Jennifer Armstrong, Surrogate

·       Ms Meghan Schiewe, Surrogate

·       Ms Ivana Holub, Surrogate

·       Ms Ellen Embury, Surrogacy and Fertility Law Specialist, Canada
