Foreign Affairs Committee to discuss the situation in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation

The Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence will meet on Tuesday June 28th for engagement with the Ukrainian Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation to discuss the situation in Ukraine. 


The meeting will take place in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House between 15:15-18:00.

• Maryna Bardina, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Solomiya Bobrovska, Secretary of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Mariia Ionova, Head of the Subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Andriy Sharaskin, Head of the Subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Sviatoslav Yurash, Head of the Subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Olena Khomenko, Head of the Subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Bohdan Yaremenko, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Iryna Gerashchenko,Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Olga Rudenko, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary cooperation 

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Charlie Flanagan said:

“We look forward to speaking with our colleagues on the Ukrainian Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine."

“Among the issues we will discuss include the European Union and Ireland’s response to the war in Ukraine, the recent decision by the European Parliament to adopt a resolution calling for the immediate granting of candidate status for membership in the European Union to Ukraine and the current security, humanitarian and socio-economic situation in Ukraine.”
