The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage of the 34th Dáil and 27th Seanad will meet in public session for the first time tomorrow, Tuesday, 20 May.
Following the election of a Leas-Chathaoirleach, the Committee will discuss the challenges facing the delivery of housing in Ireland with representatives of the County and City Management Association.
Ahead of the meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Micheál Carrigy said: “Solving the housing crisis is the single biggest challenge facing us today. For our first meeting this Committee welcomes this opportunity to meet with the representatives of the County and City Management Association.
“Local authorities are at the coalface in the delivery of housing and the Committee looks forward to hearing their insight on the challenges we face and related matters.”
The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.
