Joint Committee on Infrastructure and National Development Plan Delivery meets for discussion on the steps in planning, approving, and delivering transport infrastructure projects.

The meeting will hear from:

·       Mr. Peter Walsh, Chief Executive Officer, Transport Infrastructure Ireland

·       Geraldine Fitzpatrick, Acting Director of Capital Programme Management, Transport Infrastructure Ireland

·       Mr Hugh Cregan, Interim Chief Executive, National Transport Authority

·       Mr Eoin Gillard, Assistant Director of Transport Investment, National Transport Authority

·       Mr Garret Doocey, Assistant Secretary, Department of Transport

·       Mr. David O’Grady, Principal Officer, Department of Transport

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Seán Fleming said “We move our focus today to the steps in the delivery of transport infrastructure projects with the emphasis on those contained in the National Development Plan. The Committee welcomes stakeholders from Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority and the Department of Transport to the meeting. Our national road and light rail infrastructure along with the delivery and operation of sustainable transport infrastructure and services fall under their collective remit.

“The Committee will look to those attending to provide significant detail of the current status of our major initiatives contained in the NDP and to outline the necessary steps to ensure future plans contained can be successfully brought to fruition.”
