Question:142 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice the number of additional gardaí who will be recruited in 1995; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5582/95]
Written Answers. - Garda Numbers.
It is intended to recruit 350 gardaí in each of the years 1995, 1996 and 1997. A competition is being conducted by the Civil Service Commission at present and it is expected that the first trainees from this competition will commence training in the Garda Training College, Templemore in April 1995.
