Our Learning Hub series highlights our continuous process of educational engagement and bringing learning to life with our education officer, Conor Reale, and his team.
Along with the expansive workshops run by our educational team, an important aspect of the experience in Leinster House is meeting public representatives and facilitating unfiltered dialogue between Members and young constituents.
The latest session saw 28 transition year students taking part in workshops online with Conor over three days before spending two days on-site in Leinster House, getting a real experience of how the Parliament works during a busy sitting period. The students attending this session were from all around the country, including Dublin, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kildare, Mayo, Meath, Offaly, Sligo, Waterford and Wexford.
During their lunch on Thursday - always a busy sitting day in Leinster House - a number of elected representatives called in to chat with the students, including Deputies Violet Anne Wynne, Ivana Bacik, Thomas Gould, Pádraig O’Sullivan, Marian Harkin, Aengus Ó Snodaigh, Matt Carthy, Brendan Smith, Róisín Shortall, Bríd Smith and Paul Kehoe.
