Vol. 7 No. 25

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - D.M.P. PENSIONS.

asked the President whether he is aware that a Bill at present under consideration by the British House of Commons proposed to increase the pensions of R.I.C. pensioners while making no increase in those of the D.M.P., and whether, in view of the fact that the two forces have hitherto been treated on the same footing, so far as pensions are concerned, he would be willing to make representations to the British Government as to the desirability of continuing this equality of treatment.

As the cost of the increases contemplated by the Bill for the Amendment of Pensions (Increase) Act, 1920, at present before the British House of Commons falls entirely to be borne out of British funds, I cannot see my way to making representations of this kind suggested by the Deputy.
