asked the Minister for Finance what steps have been taken by his Department to have the road at Pettigo approved for the passage of motors and non-dutiable goods.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. DONEGAL BOUNDARY ROAD.
As the Deputy is probably aware, the approval of any road for the conveyance of traffic across the frontier is a matter of arrangement with the British Commissioners of Customs and Excise. Representations were made to them in May last with a view to the approval of the roads from Kesh to Pettigo and from Belleek to Pettigo for non-dutiable goods and motor vehicles. Their reply has not yet been received.
Will the Minister communicate with Deputy Myles when the reply is received?
I would not undertake that. It would depend on the nature of the reply.
