I have just heard with regret that our first Governor-General, Mr. T.M. Healy, is dead after a life devoted to the service of his country. It seems fitting that the House should pay a tribute to his memory and I ask you, sir, to convey to his relatives an expression of our sympathy in their bereavement.
[Deputies rose in their places.]
The Dáil adjourned at 10.55 p.m. until 10.30 a.m. on Friday.
