asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the various counties in which in the years (1) 1933, (2) 1934, and (3) 1935 the county councils adopted the Credit Note system, and the total amount of the notes in each county in each year which lapsed by reason of the fact that they were not duly presented in payment of rates by the appropriate day.

In the financial year ended 31st March, 1933 allowances made in pursuance of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1932, were made by every county council by the issue of credit notes.
In the financial year ended 31st March, 1934, the following councils issued credit notes:—Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Kerry, Kildare, Laoighis, Mayo, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon and Wicklow.
In the financial year ended 31st March, 1935, credit notes were issued by every county council except Dublin, Longford, Offaiy, and Westmeath County Councils.
In the current financial year, the following councils have issued credit notes:—Carlow, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Louth, Mayo, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary N.R., Tipperary S.R. and Wicklow. It is open to these councils to extend the period for first moiety credit notes to 31st January, 1936, and second moiety credit notes to 30th April, 1936.
A table will be circulated in the Official Report showing for each county the total amount of credit notes for the financial years 1932-33 and 1933-34 which were not realised and the total amount of the credit notes for the year 1934-35 (a) which were not realised by 30th September, 1935 and (b) which were unexpired.
