Written Answers. - County Dublin Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to acquire and divide the following lands among uneconomic holders and landless men:— The French estate, Kilcarbery, Clondalkin, containing nearly 200 acres; the O'Brien estate, S.8756/17/4, Rowlagh, Clondalkin, containing 80 acres.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Kilcarbery on the estate of Charles F. Trench and others, Record No. S.8616, County Dublin, to which the question appears to refer, and have instituted proceedings for their acquisition. Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of the lands of Rowlagh on the estate of Laurence O'Brien, Record No. S.8756, County Dublin, and a scheme for the division of the lands will be prepared as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the balance of the Mangan estate, Garristown, which has been acquired by the Land Commission will be divided, and also if the Land Commission intend to acquire for division, Doyle's estate, Charistown, Garristown, containing 177 acres and the Mangan estate at Borranstown and Baldwinstown; also the Halpin estate at Nutstown, Garristown, containing 64 acres.

The Land Commission hope within the next few months to dispose of the remaining portion (comprising 84a. 1r. 27p.) of the estate of J.S. Mangan, Record No. S.7689, County Dublin.

The Land Commission have decided to institute proceedings for the resumption of the holding of Michael J. Doyle (deceased), comprising 188a. 2r. 15p., in the townland of Charstown on the estate of Lord Langford and they propose to have an inspection made as to the suitability for resumption of the holding of John Mangan comprising 35a. 1r. 38p. in the same townland.

The Land Commission have no proceedings at present for the acquisition of the lands of Nutstown on the Halpin estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to acquire either part or all of the following lands in Ballyboughal for division amongst uneconomic holders and landless men:— J. Counihan, 500 acres in the townland of Ballyboughal, Mainscourt and Roscall; J. Counihan as the representative of P. King-Joyce, 80 acres in the townland of Grange; J. Counihan as representative of James Joyce, 500 acres in the townland of Cookstown and Skidoo, and Richard Fitzharris, 180 acres in the townland of Ballyboughal.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Ballyboughal on the estate of Richard Fitzharris and the question of their acquisition is under consideration.

The Land Commission have at present no proceedings for the acquisition of any of the other lands mentioned in the Deputy's question.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the position as regards the untenanted lands of Miss Keating, Ballyowen, Lucan, which comprise 80 acres (Record No. U.8085).

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Ballyowen on the estate of Mary J. Keating (Record No. S.8962), County Dublin, and have decided to institute proceedings for their acquisition.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to acquire and divide amongst landless men and uneconomic holders the McEvoy estate, S.8962, Badgerhill, Rathcool, containing 180 acres, and the Colonel Campbell estate, Verschoyle, Saggart, containing over 200 acres (Record No. U.3551).

The Land Commission have already instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the untenanted lands of Badgerhill on the estate of Andrew McEvoy (Record No. S.8748), County Dublin. The Land Commission have already instituted enquiries regarding the estate of Lieut.-Col. Verschoyle Campbell (Record No. U.3551), which comprises the lands of Brownsbarn (33a. 2r. 6p.), Crooksling (44a. 3r. 26p.), Lugg (16a. 3r. 33p.), and Saggart (246a. 2r. 22p.).
