Vol. 87 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Great Southern Railways Directors.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position to state the names of the present directors of the Great Southern Railways Company, Limited, who were directors of that company prior to the recent reorganisation, and the terms of remuneration in each case, then and now.

The first shareholders' directors of the Great Southern Railways Company elected in accordance with Emergency Powers (No. 152) Order, 1942, who were directors of that company prior to such Order, are: The Right Hon. James MacMahon, James P. Goodbody, Dr. Wm. Lombard Murphy, Major Hugh A. Henry.

I have no information as to the remuneration of individual directors. The Emergency Powers Order provides that each of the first shareholders' directors shall be paid remuneration at the same rate as was paid to him as a director of the company immediately before the appointed day, excluding any additional sum paid to any director while acting as chairman or deputy chairman of the company.
