Vol. 118 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Telephone Kiosks.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that persons awaiting trunk calls at the kiosks at Cork G.P.O. have no protection from inclement weather at night; and, if so, whether he will arrange for suitable shelters to be erected or, alternatively, if he will make accommodation available up to a reasonable hour at night within the main building where callers may await trunk calls.

The conditions referred to by the Deputy apply with equal force to every street kiosk in the country. It is regretted that steps cannot be taken to provide shelter for persons awaiting trunk calls at the two kiosks outside the G.P.O., Cork, nor would it be feasible to make accommodation available within the main building.
