asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the prices charged for leather by Irish tanners in each of the years 1943 to 1949, inclusive.

As the reply to the Deputy's question is in the form of a tabular statement I am arranging, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have the information circulated for inclusion in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

As Irish tanners produce a great variety of leather it is not practicable to give the prices of all the lines but the schedule hereunder sets out prices of the main products of each tannery at various dates in the years 1943 to 1949, inclusive.
