Vol. 120 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Catering for Visitors.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the difficulty which hoteliers and caterers experience in estimating and providing for the food requirements, particularly those of flour and bread, of large crowds of visitors who visit Dublin and other cities without bringing the necessary coupons with them, he will indicate whether any steps are being taken to overcome the difficulty.

I am not aware of any difficulties experienced by caterers in providing foodstuffs for their visitors. Proprietors of catering establishments hold permits for the purchase of flour and bread based on their requirements over a representative period. Moreover, it is open to them to purchase non-subsidised flour of 75 per cent. extraction and bread made therefrom without limit as to quantity.
