Vol. 122 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Reclamation Scheme.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he or the Land Commission, or his engineers, have decided that the Minane Bridge reclamation scheme is a desirable and/or feasible project and if he will state when work will start on the scheme.

asked the Minister for Lands if any definite decision has yet been arrived at regarding the proposed reclamation of lands at Ringabella and Minane Bridge, County Cork.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I will take together Questions Nos. 13 and 14.

A decision has not yet been reached in this case.

Would the Minister reply to the points in my question. I asked if he, the Land Commission or his engineers have decided that the scheme is either desirable or feasible.

These are the points that have not been decided.

Is the Minister aware that this scheme has been under supposedly active consideration as far back as 1936 and also that the land has been flooded and has deteriorated at the rate of hundreds of acres since then, and that there is still no hope?

It has been under consideration for quite a long time.
