Vol. 133 No. 9

Insurance Bill, 1952—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to give guarantees with respect to the insurance of risks in connection with external trade and to amend the law relating to the carrying on of assurance business.—(Minister for Industry and Commerce.)

Does this Bill cover insurance as a whole?

It deals mainly with this question of export credit guarantees.

Is there any reason why we should not have the whole question of insurance dealt with?

Second Stage ordered for 22nd October, 1952.
