Vol. 163 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Import Licences for Clocks.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if duty-free licences to import clocks have been granted to any firms in the State since the change of Government, and, if so, if he will state (a) how many firms were granted such licences, and (b) the names of these firms.

Licences to import clocks without payment of the protective customs duty are granted freely to all applicants. There has been no change in practice in recent months. Records are not kept in a form which would enable the information sought by the Deputy to be taken out without undue expenditure of official time.
