Vol. 178 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tralee Dispensary Plans.

4.

asked the Minister for Health whether and, if so, when his Department received sketch and site plans from Kerry County Council in connection with the erection of a dispensary at Tralee; and if he will state the cause of delay in approving of them.

My Department received sketch and site plans for the erection of a dispensary at Tralee on the 27th April, 1959.

The delay in approving the plans was due to the fact that consideration had to be given to the possibility of using instead the County Clinic for dispensary purposes. For this purpose it was necessary to obtain from the local authority particulars of dispensary attendances and of sessions held in, and attendances at, the County Clinic. This information, when obtained, established that a separate dispensary would be required. Approval has now been issued to the site proposed and the plan of the proposed dispensary is being examined. My Department's comments on this plan will be conveyed to the local authority shortly.
