asked the Minister for Social Welfare if the person whose disability benefit was reduced as a result of attending in a polling station on 17th June, 1959, referred to in a reply of 12th November, 1959, made any appeal against the Deciding Officer's decision; and, if not, if he advised the person concerned that he could make an appeal on any of the several grounds mentioned in (1) Article 7 of S.I. No. 7 of 1953 (Rule 5), (2) Article 2 of S.I. No. 18 of 1953, (Rule 9) and (3) S.I. 321 of 1953, (Rule 31); and if no such advice was tendered, why not.

The insured person did not appeal against the Deciding Officer's decision.

He was advised of his right of appeal by letter of 21adh Lúnasa, 1959 in relation to the grounds mentioned in Article 7 of S.I. No. 7 of 1953.

He was not so advised in relation to the other grounds referred to by the Deputy as they were not applicable.
