asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is in a position to make a statement with regard to the strike affecting Radio Éireann and Telefís Éireann news programmes; and if, having regard to the fact that radio and television licence holders have been deprived of news programmes, he will consider allowing an abatement in the cost of licences, or extending the validity of licences by a period to compensate the holders for the loss of service involved.
