Vol. 219 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting Repairs.

80.

asked the Minister for Local Government (a) when vesting repairs were carried out to a council house occupied by a person (name supplied), (b) when he appealed against the inadequacy of these repairs, (c) when further repairs were sanctioned, and (d) if these repairs were carried out.

I understand that prevesting repairs were carried out to this cottage in 1963. The tenant's appeal was received on 24th April, 1964, and was determined by me on 30th October, 1964. My determination provided for additional works which, I understand, have not yet been carried out because of difficulties in getting a contractor. The housing authority hope to have the repairs carried out shortly.

81.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department have sanctioned further vesting repairs to council houses occupied by persons (names supplied) at Park, Knocknagree, Mallow, County Cork.

These cases were the subject of appeals under section 18 of the Labourers Act, 1936. I have recently determined two of the appeals. The terms of my determinations which provide for further repairs in both cases have been conveyed to the appellants and to the housing authority. The third appeal is at present being considered.
