Vol. 245 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - X-Ray Unit Personnel.

12.

asked the Minister for Health the number of mobile mass X-ray units taken out of service over the past 12 months; and if any effort has been made by his Department to ensure that the skills of those formerly employed in these units are utilised elsewhere in the health service.

I am informed by the Mass Radiography Board that, except for the purposes of maintenance and repair, no mobile mass X-ray units were taken out of service during the past 12 months; one unit which had been extensively damaged by fire was out of commission from January, 1969, but returned to service in November, 1969.

I am also informed that there was no redundancy among the staff of the board during the past 12 months.
