Vol. 255 No. 19

Written Answers. - Dublin Corporation Housing Offices.

149.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has obtained any reports from Dublin Corporation regarding the success of the pilot local office at Ballymun; and whether he will consider the establishment of further local offices at Finglas and Cabra.

The local branch of the corporation's housing department was opened in Ballymun on the 21st June and I propose to ask the corporation to furnish a report when they have had three months experience of the operation. The question of making similar arrangements in other areas will be considered in the light of experience with the Ballymun experiment and in the general context of the suggestions in the White Paper on local government about the establishment of advisory area committees and local community councils.
