Vol. 262 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pension Reduction.

31.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the present position in regard to the holder of OAP Book No. 1651070 who is now 77 years old and lives alone on a poor quality 12-acre holding; and if he will indicate the special circumstances which resulted in the pension being reduced recently in this case.

As a result of increases in her pension from the Department of Education, a question for reduction of non-contributory old age pension is being raised in respect of the pensioner in question and will be referred to the local pension committee for decision. Pension at reduced rate is in payment pending the committee's decision.
