Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Traffic Plan.

30.

(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Local Government when Dublin Corporation intends to implement the Trevor Morgan Traffic Plan for the centre of Dublin city.

I am informed that the plan is at present being examined by Dublin Corporation. I am not aware when that examination will be completed or what proposals they will make in the matter.

(Dublin Central): Is the Minister aware that if the Trevor Morgan Plan is fully implemented it will cause considerable displacement of families in the old part of the city known as the Liberties? People are very concerned about it at the moment, and I was hoping the Minister would instruct the corporation that, if they have to displace them, they would rehouse them in the area.

I can assure the Deputy that if a proposal comes from Dublin Corporation or any other corporation which will displace a considerable number of families, that proposal will not be acceptable to me.
