Vol. 276 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Land Acquisition.

19.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is likely that he will introduce proposals for legislation in respect of the Forest and Wildlife Service which will facilitate and make less costly the purchase of small areas for this service.

(Cavan): I am not quite sure what the Deputy has in mind but some provisions relating to the acquisition of land for forestry and conservation purposes, which I will be bringing before the House in the Wildlife Bill, 1974, are in fact designed to facilitate the acquisition of land and will cover both small areas and more extensive tracts.

When does the Minister expect to bring this Bill before the Dáil?

(Cavan): I hope to circulate it very shortly. It is in final process of the procedures involved before circulation.
