I do not intend to consider changes in the structure or organisation of any sector of the insurance industry until I have received the final report of the Insurance Industry Committee. I hope to receive that report in the early part of 1975.
Are there any short-term measures the Minister can take to deal with the chaotic situation which has arisen in regard to motor car insurance? There is wholesale disquiet in two respects, one, refusals to insure motor vehicles by the majority of companies and two, the prohibitive prices charged.
