Vol. 276 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Vocational School.

67.

asked the Minister for Education when work on the new Cavan vocational school will be completed.

Mr. R. Burke

The school is completed and has been occupied.

Is the Minister aware that there are no playing fields whatsoever provided at that school and that the all-weather pitch, which will do until the school gets proper playing pitches, has not been completed and could the Minister say when it will be completed?

Mr. R. Burke

Some minor works still remain to be completed and it is expected these works will be finished this week.

Would the Minister not agree that in a county which is reasonably interested in athletics, and famous for them, the provision of the holding all-weather pitch is a matter of urgency seeing there are no playing fields at the school?

Mr. R. Burke

I would agree it is a matter of urgency.

Would the Minister do something about it?

Mr. R. Burke

The Minister has indicated he is doing something about it.
