Under the terms of the school transport scheme, it is necessary, before a special service may be established to a national school, that a minimum of ten eligible pupils in a distinct locality be available for transport. Since it appears that only three eligible pupils including those of the family mentioned by the Deputy are offering in the area in question, it is not open to my Department to authorise a special service for that area.
