The Health (Flouridation of Water Supplies) Act, 1960, requires the health boards to meet the cost of the installation and maintenance of flouridation equipment and the running costs of flouridation. The costs are normally met from the health boards' revenue allocations. An application for a special grant to cover the flouridation of Lough Egish water supply has been made by the North-Eastern Health Board and is under consideration in my Department.
