Vol. 365 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

145.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in the payment of a rebate of tax to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, since ceasing employment on 20 December 1985 the taxpayer has submitted to the inspector of taxes two claims for repayment on the grounds of unemployment.

An initial claim was received on 17 January 1986 and a cheque in settlement of that claim was issued to the taxpayer on 27 January 1986.

A second uncompleted claim form was submitted by the taxpayer on 23 February 1986. The form was returned to him for completion on 26 February 1986. The completed form was received on 14 March 1986. The claim was dealt with by way of a review of the taxpayer's liability for 1985-86. A cheque in settlement of the refund due was issued to the taxpayer on 25 March 1986.
