Legal formalities for the purchase of a site at West Gate, Drogheda, for a new Garda divisional headquarters have yet to be completed. An archaeological survey of the new site has been carried out and some planning for the new building has been done.
The archaeological survey imposes some restrictions on the development of the site. In addition, the local authority have indicated planning requirements which will also affect the development of the site. The implications of both these factors are being studied at present. It is not possible to indicate at this stage when works will commence.
