Written Answers. - Jobsearch Programme.
The involvement of the Department of Labour and the Manpower agencies in the Jobsearch programme relates to the following activities: 150,000 persons on the live register to be interviewed; 40,000 to be offered manpower opportunities; 12,000 to be placed on Jobsearch courses.
The interviews of those on the live register are being carried out by the National Manpower Service with its own staff supplemented by 50 persons redeployed from AnCO and two from CERT. Eighteen clerical back-up staff have also been redeployed to the NMS, 12 of whom are from AnCO, two from CERT and four from YEA.
The grades of the redeployed staff from AnCO vary from Grade 6 (divisional manager) to Grade 14 (clerk typist). The majority are in the training adviser and executive assistant grades.
As regards CERT and the YEA, the regional staff are mainly in the clerical grade but also include an administrative officer and a training adviser.
The 40,000 manpower opportunities, involving places on training courses and employment schemes, as well as job vacancies, and the work experience programme, are being provided by the responsible agencies by redeployment of their own staff. The main agencies involved are the National Manpower Service and AnCO.
The Jobsearch courses are being organised by AnCO using as tutors staff redeployed from within the organisation. All told, 102 staff have been redeployed ranging from Grade 5 (regional manager) to Grade 11 (executive assistant). The majority of the staff are from the training adviser grade.
Overall monitoring of the Department of Labour involvement in the Jobsearch programme is being carried out within existing Departmental staff allocations.
