Vol. 372 No. 13

Written Answers. - Income Tax Rebate.

72.

asked the Minister for Finance if an income tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has not received an application for a repayment of tax for 1986-87 from the taxpayer. The question of the taxpayer's entitlement to a refund of tax falls to be determined by way of a review of his liability for the relevant year. If the taxpayer forwards the form P.60 given to him by his employer which shows pay and tax deducted for 1986/87, the inspector will be in a position to carry out the review and any refund found to be due will be made.
