Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - Entry Visas Application.

Michael Noonan

Question:

289 Mr. Noonan (Limerick-East) asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the fact that entry visas have been refused to a group of Turkish students who wish to come to Ireland to study English at a language school (details supplied) for a six-month period; the reasons his Department takes such a restrictive attitude to the issuing of visas to these Turkish nationals; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It has never been the practice to disclose reasons for the refusal to grant a particular visa and I do not propose to depart from that practice on this occasion.
