Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Programme for a Partnership Government.

John Bruton

Question:

78 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Taoiseach the Government's proposals to introduce legislation, either to give effect to the Programme for Government, or for other purposes.

Both parties in Government have made clear that they are equally and strongly committed to the full implementation over a five-year period of the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997. For this purpose, all appropriate action will be taken, including legislation where this is necessary. In the latter case, and more generally, such legislation will be introduced, in accordance with established practice, by the relevant Minister who has functional responsibility for the particular area in question.
