Vol. 426 No. 6

Written Answers. - Wexford Town Vocational School.

Question:

156 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the ongoing campaign to have the vocational school at Wexford town extended, and the primitive accommodation at present in use by the teachers and pupils; if her attention has further been drawn to the fact that the teachers went on one day strikes to highlight their grievances; when she will sanction the building and a timescale for this; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the unsatisfactory accommodation situation at Wexford Town Vocational School. I have included provision for a major building project at the above school in the 1993 post-primary capital programme.

Tenders will now be invited and it is expected that construction should commence in the summer.
