Vol. 434 No. 2

Written Answers. - Housing Finance Agency.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

204 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself with the operation of Housing Finance Agency loans where a householder becomes unemployed; and if he has any plans to review the operation of these loans in such circumstances.

The position of HFA borrowers who are unemployed is being examined at present, in conjunction with the Department of Social Welfare, in the context of the review of the operation of mortgage interest supplements under the Supplementary Welfare Allowances Scheme.
