Vol. 456 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Rehabilitation Board.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

107 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health if extra funding will be made available to the National Rehabilitation Board to allow 44 people take up employment which has been offered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13568/95]

Limerick East): I presume the Deputy is referring to the Employment Support Scheme administered by the National Rehabilitation Board. This scheme has been an outstanding success with, I am pleased to say, numbers of people with disabilities finding employment under the scheme running in excess of expectations. Because of its importance in creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities, I am pleased to inform the Deputy that additional funding is being provided by my Department to the National Rehabilitation Board to enable it to continue recruitment under the scheme.
