Vol. 456 No. 7

Written Answers. - EU Funding.

Seán Kenny

Question:

71 Mr. S. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance the total funding drawn down in 1995 under the Community Support Framework and the breakdown by operational programme and sub-programme; the total amount of matching Exchequer funds provided by his Department and the breakdown by operational programme and sub-programme; the total amount provided by the private sector and the breakdown by operational programme and sub-programme; and the outturn he expects for 1995 under the above-listed criteria. [14620/95]

The information requested in relation to the CSF and its operational programmes and sub-programmes is not compiled in this Department in the detail and format required by the Deputy; it is compiled at the level of the implementing Department. Since a similar question has been put by the Deputy to each Department, the required information should be contained in the answers to those questions.

The Department of Finance, however, has compiled aggregate data under CSF 1994-1999 in relation to the drawdown of funds. Up to the end of September 1995 the total drawdown of funds under CSF 1994-1999 was £380.3 million; the forecast of receipts included in the 1995 budget under CSF 1994-1999 was £766.3 million. The latest estimate of Exchequer matching funding for the CSF for 1995 is £226 million.

Under CSF 1994-1999 the Department of Finance has responsibility for one operational programme i.e. the CSF Technical Assistance Programme. Since this programme is still under discussion with the European Commission no funds have been drawn down this year. The net Exchequer matching funds for this programme in 1995 is £75,000. This programme does not contain any sub-programmes.
