74 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to introduce a charge on glass bottles used in the retail trade in order to ensure their return for recycling; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2788/96]
The need for the introduction of charges or other measures in relation to packaging or products in the interests of waste management will be considered in the context of the implementation of the national recycling strategy, the industry-led REPAK scheme and the Waste Management Bill, 1995.
