Vol. 466 No. 2

Written Answers. - Designated Area Status Scheme.

Mary Flaherty

Question:

87 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to include St. Helena's Drive Shopping Precinct in the extension of the designated area status in view of its ongoing dereliction and the impact on the local community. [11227/96]

The present urban renewal scheme will operate up to 31 July 1997 in 35 urban centres throughout the country. There are no plans to extend designated area status to any additional area during the currency of the scheme.
