Question:

128 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the new primary school building for Kilkee, County Clare. [18804/96]

My Department is currently evaluating the contract documentation for the extension at Kilkee. I expect this evaluation will be completed shortly. A decision on the timing of the invitation of tenders will be taken in light of the available financial resources.

Question:

129 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education whether the plans for Kilrush community school submitted by the board of management have been approved by her Department; and whether the finances for this project are still in place. [18805/96]

Provision has been made in the 1996 Capital Programme for the construction of phase 2 at Kilrush community school, County Clare.

The design team for the project recently submitted a revised floor plan to the post-primary Building Unit of my Department for consideration. I understand that the full stage 2 documentation will be forwarded by the design team shortly.

At this stage of architectural planning, it is not possible to indicate when construction will commence. However, every effort is being made to progress this project as quickly as possible.
