Question:

188 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the number of staff recruited by his Department since taking office; the function and remuneration, including expenses, of each of these staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22921/97]

For the purposes of answering this question, I have made the assumption that the Deputy is referring solely to non-established staff appointed by me. In this context the relevant details are as set out below.

Payments of expense allowances for the above staff members are paid at the appropriate Civil Service rates and subject to normal Civil Service regulations in respect of necessary official obligations.
