Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

143 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the balance of a 1997 suckler cow premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [7092/98]

Maps have been received from the person concerned and the necessary digitising should be completed within the next two weeks. The processing of the area aid application will then be finalised and any outstanding payments will be issued. Payments have already issued to the person concerned in respect of sheep headage of £2,250.00; cattle headage of £2,976.01 and suckler cow of £3,281.38.

Question:

144 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will pay the balance of 1997 headage and suckler grants to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [7093/98]

Payments have issued to the person concerned in respect of cattle headage of £694.00 and suckler cow premium of £504.82. The 1997 area aid application for the person concerned has now been fully processed and all outstanding payments should issue shortly.

John McGuinness

Question:

145 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare under the installation aid scheme, in view of the fact that the application was made some time ago; if he will make a statement on the position regarding this scheme; the cost of funding all outstanding applications; and the date when the payments will be made. [7094/98]

There is no record of a formal application having been received in my Department from this person. The installation aid scheme was suspended on 7 August 1997 as the Structural Funding allocated to the scheme was exhausted. Consideration is being given to the introduction of a new more tightly focused scheme and discussions on this are ongoing with the various farming organisations. An additional £3.5 million provided in the budget will enable the processing of all valid applications received in the Department when the scheme was suspended.
