Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

513 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, his Department has for the provision of the new sewage treatment plant at Cheekpoint, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8937/98]

Contract documents for this scheme have been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve them.

An environmental impact statement for the Tramore sewerage scheme has been submitted to my Department and is under examination. The scheme is included in the 1998 water and sewerage services investment programme to be advanced through planning.
